The Languedoc landscape is dominated by limestone creating the numerous gorges, plains, hills and plateaus.

The Romans were quick to take advantage of the region's 'terroir', for wine production and as a source of water.

For a relaxing and fun day, take canoes from Collias towards the Pont du Gard. Pack a French picnic; cheese, bread and saussice and stop on the way.

Make sure you chill the wine in the Gardon and takes lots of water to drink, the sun is even hotter when you are on the water.
